Fostering Together is a Western Washington nonprofit dedicated to supporting foster families. In the fall of 2019, I worked alongside a team to create a public relations campaign for Fostering Together. Our campaign was called “Cans for Kids” and our goal was to encourage hesitant groups to consider fostering. Our campaign centered on a canned food drive, along with an #ICanFoster social media movement and charity golf tournament to end the campaign, that positions Fostering Together as a leader in foster care and spins the narrative from “I can’t foster” to “I can foster.” The plan included a detailed proposed budget and a mock-up flyer for the golf tournament.

In addition to the campaign, I also wrote a press release announcing the partnership of WSU and Fostering Together that was distributed on WSU Vancouver’s news wire and picked up by Clark County Today.
